I was initially exposed to ILT courses thru the E=MC2 program for middle school science & math educators. Already teaching with technology, I was interested in learning how to use the web to streamline my lessons, organize my resources, and to increase both student engagement & parental involvement. Having learned this & much more, I now have an expanded view of instructional technology's utilization. This has changed my outlook on the ideal classroom/lab but only enhanced my expectation of delivering STEM content to middle school children.

I.A. Identification, selection, installation and maintenance of technology infrastructure, and
hardware and software applications for school administration and instruction including:
- Assessment of educational and administrative technological needs
- Design and production of media including projected and non-projected visual aids, audio and video production in both analog and digital forms, and photography using film-based and digital formats
- Implementation and maintenance of interactive information systems, the Internet, distance learning technologies, and networks
- Assistive technology resources for students with special needs
- Evaluation of the performance of hardware and software
Assessment of educational and administrative technological needs
- For ED5212 Curriculum, Instruction, & Technology in Education I developed a Tech Plan for The Mathematics, Civics, & Sciences Charter School, Inc.(MCSCS) I worked with the IT consultant and high school computer science teacher in order to complete the plan, a Tech Plan Assessment, & a presentation for stakeholders.
- In ED Psych 8639 - Instructional Design & Development, we were asked to perform an Instructional Needs Assessment. After our needs assessment was analyzed, we were asked to create a Learning Plan (lesson plan) and Communication Plan to advertise the program.

This year my 7th grade students at Deburgos Middle School are creating a website to document their progress on a service learning project developed by Need in Deed. In order to meet this competency, I also did the following:

- Helped MESA Saturday Robotics Academy students use Google Docs in order to complete Engineering Design Notebooks detailing their progress on building prosthetic arms.
- Helped 2013 MESA summer camp create video games using Bootstrap
- Created Favorite Web 2.0 sites Youtube videos
- Created a Game Based Learning Wiki
Implementation and maintenance of interactive information systems, the Internet, distance learning technologies, and networks
At Deburgos Middle School I built a website for the new STEM afterschool club that I will be coaching.
At MCSCS I did routine maintenance on the school's Lenovo Thinkpad laptops to more effectively integrate educational technology in my classroom.

Assistive technology resources for students with special needs
At Deburgos Middle School, my advisory/ first class of the day is special needs and requires that I build multiple means of visual or kinesthetic (via Smartboard, models, etc.) representation for lesson content into every day instruction.
For the SPED 5111 Take Home Final I demonstrated via a case study that incorporated the Universal Design for Learning, Response to Intervention, & Differentiated Instruction how photogalleries made with Google Images can be used to teach vocabulary to all students. We had to decide on a specific reading/writing lesson with an anticipated specific learning outcome as well as connections between our decisions and readings, course lectures, & assistive technology presentation.

Evaluation of the performance of hardware and software
- At Deburgos Middle School I will be routinely testing Lego EV3 robots for the new STEM afterschool club that I will be coaching.
- For Stemnasium Learning Academy 2014 Summer Camp I routinely helped students download and test app inventor and the AI Companion for smartphones & tablets.
- For the Boy Scout Troop 447 of MCSCS, I helped download and utilize the 2014 AT&T Stock Market Challenge.
- At MCSCS I did routine maintenance on the school's Lenovo Thinkpad laptops to more effectively integrate educational technology in my classroom.
