Some of the teachers, volunteers, and engineering students working with the Robotics Academy met to discuss how the previous week went and to plan for the upcoming Saturday. The general consensus was that students should be allowed to finish the Rube Goldberg projects- that was totally awesome as far as developing teams – even as we work to timely follow the curriculum. Secondly it wast decided that communication during the week of responsibilities/expectations to all within “Base Camp” is paramount to maintaining preparation and smooth instruction. Thirdly I volunteered to write a letter requesting stationary along with arts & crafts when the topic of what supplies were still needed. The FIRST lightbulb fundraiser was also discussed. Fourth I suggested a LP for building a model arm using household items just as students did with the Rube Goldberg machines. Lastly it was reiterated that students need to be exposed fully to engineering design, CAD, and RobotC in order to build the best prosthetic arms.
